At Shackleton Estate we’re extremely proud of our Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine expresses the intense and succulent, yet refined and structured style for which Margaret River Cabernet is known. This vintage has been developed over many years to arrive outside our cellar door purely for your enjoyment. This vintage is a complex bouquet of darker berries and oak, the palate containing something akin to mulberry and plum, with the texture built around fine, ripe cedar tannins. The tannin influence is constantly controlled through an oxidative handling process to ensure a smooth yet rich vintage.
Our Cabernet has a deep red colour with an almost mauve hue. The nose offers aromas of ripe blackcurrant, dark mulberry and hints of liquorice over cedar and spice. Shackleton Estate has been working proudly on Cabernet for many years, to culminate in this vintage. This wine is matured in French oak for 18 months, it is more than capable of being cellared for 10 years or more. It will only distinguish itself with age as the tannins settle.
